Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Active COTA certification
- Previous experience working with school-aged children is highly valued
- Understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and related documentation
- Exceptional communication and teamwork abilities, collaborating with teachers, therapists, and families
- Strong organizational skills and adaptability in dynamic environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement therapeutic activities as directed by a supervising Occupational Therapist to support students educational goals
- Assist in the assessment of students functional abilities and help develop intervention strategies
- Work closely with students individually and in small groups, providing targeted support in fine motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care activities
- Document progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to IEP meetings when appropriate
- Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages student engagement and achievement
