Desired Qualifications:

  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant credentials, current and in good standing
  • Previous experience in a school setting, ideally at the elementary level
  • Strong understanding of best practices for working with behaviors and supporting academic development
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams
  • Adaptability to meet diverse student needs and willingness to apply creative interventions
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and track student progress

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to elementary-aged students, as outlined in their IEPs
  • Support students with behavioral and academic needs, using evidence-based strategies
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to facilitate inclusive learning environments
  • Assist with assessments and implement treatment plans designed by a licensed Occupational Therapist
  • Document progress, maintain records, and contribute to IEP meetings when appropriate
  • Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere that helps students thrive
