Job Description

Make a positive impact in a supportive educational environment by providing essential occupational therapy assistance to students. As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a school setting, you'll work closely with licensed Occupational Therapists to implement therapy plans, helping students develop the skills they need to succeed academically and socially. This contract position offers a chance to use your expertise where it matters mostsupporting student growth and progress.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Experience working with children or adolescents, preferably in a school setting
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and families
  • Ability to follow therapy plans and adjust strategies based on student needs
  • Organizational skills to manage documentation and assist with program implementation

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Assist Occupational Therapists in delivering services detailed in student IEPs
  • Engage students in activities that promote fine motor, sensory, and self-care skills
  • Document progress accurately and maintain thorough records
  • Collaborate with educational staff to integrate therapy into the daily curriculum
  • Participate in meetings and discussions regarding student needs and progress
  • Set up and maintain therapy equipment and materials
