Step into an exciting opportunity supporting students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) on a contract basis near Council, ID. In this vital role, youll make a lasting difference by collaborating closely with occupational therapists, special education staff, and families to provide hands-on interventions that nurture students skills and independence.
Key Qualifications:
- Active COTA certification with credentials to practice in Idaho
- Experience working in school settings or with pediatric populations preferred
- Ability to implement individualized treatment plans under supervision of licensed OT
- Strong knowledge of sensory integration, fine/gross motor skills, and adaptive strategies for classroom success
- Collaborative mindset and excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Commitment to professionalism, organization, and confidentiality
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students as prescribed in their IEPs
- Document progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in student evaluations
- Collaborate with teachers, OTs, and other staff to adapt learning materials and environments
- Assist with therapy-related equipment and classroom modifications
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and strategies for carryover
- Participate in IEP and team meetings as appropriate
