Job Description

Bring your skills as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to a dynamic school-based contract assignment supporting students in an enriching environment. As a valued member of a collaborative OT team, you'll play a crucial role in helping students reach their fullest potential through targeted, impactful services.

This full-time role runs from August 10, 2026, to May 20, 2027, with a consistent 37.5-hour workweek. Working on-site, youll partner closely with teachers, other therapists, and families to ensure each students needs are met. The position is itinerant, offering the chance to work across different sites and engage with a diverse caseload. Through a blend of direct interventions and professional reporting, your expertise will directly support students growth and independence.

Qualifications:

  • Current New Mexico COTA licensure required
  • Prior experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Willingness to travel between school sites as part of an itinerant role
  • Commitment to following best practices in occupational therapy service delivery

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct OT services to students as outlined in IEPs
  • Gather data and maintain accurate, timely records and reports
  • Collaborate with occupational therapists, teachers, and staff to support student progress
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to individualized planning
  • Communicate with families regarding student progress and interventions
  • Adapt activities and assistive tools to meet diverse learning needs
