Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in a dynamic school environment as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). This on-site role runs from August 2026 through May 2027, offering you the chance to collaborate closely with an experienced OT team. Your expertise will help deliver crucial direct services, as well as contribute to comprehensive report writing and itinerant support across the school.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credentials.
  • Must hold active licensure in New Mexico.
  • Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting is highly valued.
  • Ability to provide direct occupational therapy services to students.
  • Proficient in documentation and preparing detailed reports.
  • Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct therapy services to students as prescribed in their IEPs or 504 plans.
  • Support the OT team by implementing treatment plans and recording progress.
  • Travel between sites within the district as an itinerant provider.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to promote student success.
  • Prepare timely, thorough documentation and contribute to eligibility or progress reports.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide input on student care.
