Sunbelt is currently seeking a highly motivated and passionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team in a school contract position. Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in a school setting under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT)
  • Implement individualized treatment plans and interventions to help students achieve their goals and improve functional abilities
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to support students' participation and progress in the academic environment
  • Conduct assessments, gather data, and maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions and student progress
  • Adapt and modify activities, equipment, and environments to promote students' independence and engagement
  • Provide guidance and education to parents, teachers, and staff regarding strategies and techniques to support students' occupational therapy needs


Qualifications:

  • Valid Florida Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license
  • Previous experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in a school setting, preferred
  • Strong knowledge of occupational therapy principles, practices, and techniques
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on student needs and goals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other team members
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and problem-solving skills to address diverse student needs and changing situations
