Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with active state credentials
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric environment is preferred
- Knowledge of individualized education programs (IEPs) and ability to implement treatment plans
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with students, staff, and families
- Adaptability, patience, and an enthusiastic approach to working with children of varying abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support licensed occupational therapists in delivering direct and indirect therapy services to students
- Implement instructional activities and strategies to improve students fine motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care routines
- Document sessions and progress according to established guidelines and procedures
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to ensure coordinated care
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals
