Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Illinois COTA license is required
- Experience in school-based occupational therapy, with preference for those who have worked with grades 4-8
- Ability to travel between multiple school sites
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work alongside teachers and other support staff
- Commitment to student growth and creating an inclusive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement occupational therapy interventions under the guidance of an OT for students in PreK-8th grade, focusing mainly on grades 4-8
- Contribute to individualized education plans, documenting progress and collaborating on goals
- Assist students in strengthening motor skills and promoting greater independence in academic and daily activities
- Adapt therapy techniques to meet diverse student needs and classroom environments
- Communicate with staff and families to support students individualized plans
