Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

  • Current and valid New Mexico COTA license (required)
  • Preferred: New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) license
  • Prior experience in school-based settings or with pediatric populations highly valued
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to design and implement creative therapy interventions tailored to a diverse student population
  • Dedication to collaborative teamwork with teachers, therapists, and families

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to K-12 students as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Support students participation in academic, social, and daily living activities by developing and implementing purposeful interventions
  • Collaborate with licensed occupational therapists to assess student needs and track progress
  • Document therapy sessions, progress notes, and contribute to IEP reports and meetings
  • Educate school staff and families on strategies to support ongoing student development
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings and professional development activities
