Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students as part of an Occupational Therapy team. This position offers an opportunity to utilize your Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) skills in a dynamic school environment, providing direct services, collaborating on reports, and making a meaningful difference in students lives.

You will work closely with seasoned OTs, delivering itinerant support across multiple sites. Your primary responsibilities will include implementing therapy plans, documenting progress, and engaging with educators and families to foster student success.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid COTA licensure in New Mexico (NM)
  • Previous school-based or pediatric OT support experience preferred
  • Familiarity with direct therapy services, report-writing, and itinerant caseloads
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt to new settings and work efficiently with a multidisciplinary team

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy services to students under OT supervision
  • Travel between school sites as needed, managing a varied caseload
  • Assist with therapy documentation, progress notes, and report writing
  • Contribute to IEP meetings and help modify activities for student success
  • Maintain detailed, compliant records in accordance with state and federal guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student goals
