Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract assignment supporting students across an entire school district as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). Beginning August 27, 2026, this full-time role covers an approximately 12-week FMLA leave, with a possible extension. You'll play a vital part in helping students from Pre-K through 12th grade, bringing your skills and compassion to every day.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active COTA certification (Connecticut DPH licensure and passed NBCOT Exam)
  • Previous experience in a school-based setting is preferable
  • Confident working with a diverse range of student ages and backgrounds
  • Reliable transportation to travel between district sites
  • Comfortable collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and under OT supervision

Role Responsibilities:

  • Implement prescribed occupational therapy treatment plans for students across grade levels
  • Document intervention activities, monitor student responses, and track progress
  • Support students with a wide variety of needs and disabilities, adapting to their individualized goals
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, educational staff, and caregivers to foster student success
  • Contribute to assessments and the development of student-specific strategies, always working closely with the supervising Occupational Therapist

This district-wide position offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact while building valuable school-based experience. The final daily schedule will be confirmed, but youll typically work about 77.5 hours each day. All interviews will be conducted virtually, making the initial process convenient.
