Location: Athens, Alabama
Schedule: 3035 Hours per Week
Contract Dates: August 2026 June 2027
Caseload: K-12 Students District-Wide

Now Hiring: School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in Athens, AL

We are seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join a supportive school district serving students throughout Athens, Alabama. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed COTA who is passionate about helping children develop the skills needed for academic success and daily functioning.

The COTA will provide direct occupational therapy services to students across the district, collaborating with occupational therapists, teachers, and special education teams to support student achievement and independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to K-12 students in accordance with IEP goals
  • Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Support students with fine motor, sensory, visual-motor, self-help, and school participation skills
  • Maintain accurate therapy documentation and service records
  • Collaborate with educators, administrators, and related service providers
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions as needed
  • Travel between assigned school sites within the district

Qualifications

  • Active Alabama Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license
  • Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • School-based or pediatric experience preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining supervision requirements
