Qualifications:
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Alaska state licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous pediatric and/or school-based experience preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Proficient in adapting activities for diverse needs
- Ability to manage time effectively and maintain accurate documentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist supervising Occupational Therapist in delivering tailored interventions to students
- Carry out treatment plans focused on improving daily living, sensory motor, and functional skills required for classroom participation
- Observe, record, and report students progress
- Collaborate regularly with teachers, therapists, and family members to promote student integration and success
- Support individualized education plans (IEPs) and help adapt learning environments as needed
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing staff development
