Make a meaningful difference in the lives of K12 students by supporting their educational success as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a school-based setting. This contract role involves providing therapy services to several campuses throughout Hendry County, making adaptability and a willingness to travel across the region essential. Assignments are determined prior to the school year, ensuring you are prepared to hit the ground running and positively impact students from a variety of backgrounds and grade levels.
Your expertise will ensure students can participate fully in their learning environments by addressing their unique occupational needsusing evidence-based strategies to foster success in the classroom and beyond.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Current and active Florida COTA license
- Prior experience working in school settings is a plus
- Ability to manage a flexible caseload spanning multiple schools
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for teaming with educators and related service staff
- Comfortable working independently and traveling between sites as assigned for the school year
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions and support as directed by an OTR
- Travel to assigned schools within Hendry County, adapting to each environment
- Document student progress and maintain communication with IEP teams and family members
- Collaborate with school staff to address student needs and maximize functional outcomes
- Assist with individualized interventions, classroom modifications, and direct student support
