Make a positive impact in a school community by supporting a student as a 1:1 Educational Aide. Located near Wilmington, MA, this contract position offers a chance to assist a K-12 student in a wheelchair, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and access to the curriculum. You'll contribute directly to the students daily success and personal growth within a supportive educational setting.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification required
- Experience as a CNA Nurse or Paraprofessional in a school or pediatric environment preferred
- Compassionate, patient, and able to adapt to students individual needs
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Familiarity with assistive mobility devices and hygiene support
- Ability to follow directions from teaching and support staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 assistance to a student throughout the school day
- Support with mobility, personal care, and classroom engagement
- Collaborate with teachers and therapists to implement student-specific plans
- Maintain accurate daily records of support provided
- Foster a safe and encouraging environment for the student
- Accompany and support the student during transitions and activities
This full-time role spans 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, throughout the school year. With only one student on your caseload, you'll have the opportunity to develop a meaningful, consistent relationship and help them achieve their goals each day.
