Job Description

This full-semester contract position is for a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) to provide dedicated 1:1 care in a middle school setting. The role involves supporting a fragile diabetic student in a Barnegat-area school, requiring specialized skills in diabetic monitoring and direct nursing assistance. The assignment runs from late February through mid-June and offers full-time hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one nursing assistance to a middle school student with fragile diabetes
  • Monitor blood glucose levels and administer necessary interventions as appropriate
  • Collaborate with school staff to ensure student safety and well-being during school hours
  • Maintain accurate records of care, observations, and medication administration
  • Flexibly manage the caseload in response to the primary CNA's health-related absences

Qualifications:

  • Certified Nurse Assistant with active CNA certification
  • Previous experience working with diabetic children, including blood glucose monitoring and care protocols
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with school personnel
  • Strong organizational skills to manage detailed health records
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to student care

Location and Schedule:

  • Location: Middle school in Barnegat, New Jersey
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, from February 25 through June 17
