Job Description

A full-time Behavior Specialist/BCBA position is available for the 2025-2026 school year at a K-12 public school in Barre, Vermont. This in-person, contract role offers an opportunity to provide support to students across Barre City Elementary & Middle School and Barre Town Middle & Elementary School.

Location: Barre, VT
Duration: ASAP through June 19, 2026 (tentative, aligned with school calendar)
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Caseload: Students in Barre City and Barre Town schools

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement behavior intervention plans and assess student needs within a school-based setting
  • Provide direct support and coaching to teachers and staff on behavior strategies
  • Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and support individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Facilitate positive behavioral supports and contribute to overall school climate improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a related field preferred; other education combined with 2+ years of relevant experience considered
  • Must meet state requirements for behavior specialist or BCBA roles
  • Experience working within K-12 educational settings preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work effectively with students, staff, and families
