Job Description

A school district in Oroville, CA is seeking a skilled Behavior Specialist to support students with behavioral challenges. This contract position offers the opportunity to work closely with educators and families in a collaborative school environment, helping to develop and implement behavior intervention plans that promote positive student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct functional behavior assessments and develop individualized behavior intervention plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and other school staff to implement and monitor behavior strategies.
  • Provide training and support for paraprofessionals and staff working directly with students.
  • Collect and analyze data to assess progress and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Facilitate communication between families, school personnel, and outside agencies to coordinate services.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Behavior Specialist in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and behavior intervention techniques.
  • Previous roles as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Paraprofessional are highly valuable.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and in multidisciplinary teams.
