Make an impact in the lives of students with visual impairments in a unique school environment focused on specialized support. This full-time contract opportunity is designed for a dedicated Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) eager to apply expertise in a school for the blind serving students from kindergarten through grade 12.
To thrive in this setting, candidates will need:
- Active Maryland BCBA licensure
- Previous experience working as a BCBA, preferably in a K-12 or specialized school environment
- Strong understanding of functional behavior assessments and evidence-based interventions
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, teachers, and administrators
- Excellent communication, documentation, and analytical skills
- Flexibility, patience, and a compassionate approach suited for students with visual impairments
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting behavioral assessments and developing individualized behavior intervention plans for students
- Providing direct and consultative behavioral support tailored to the needs of students who are blind or visually impaired
- Training staff and caregivers in effective behavior management strategies
- Monitoring progress and adjusting interventions as needed
- Keeping detailed records and collaborating closely with educational staff, families, and related service providers
- Fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students
