Job Description

Support the growth and success of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder as an Autism Support Specialist for a contract role near Lake Oswego, OR. This position is ideal for a Special Education Teacher or a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with relevant school-based experience, ready to make a meaningful difference. With a 37.5-hour work week and an itinerant schedule across multiple campuses, youll work with students ranging from kindergarten through age 21 within the districts ASD program.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Special Education Teacher certification or BCBA credentials with school-based experience
  • Expertise in applying behavior analytic principles in educational settings
  • Strong understanding of ASD, including high-functioning autism and Aspergers Syndrome
  • Knowledge of state standards, IEP/504 regulations, and relevant assessment tools
  • Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and communicate complex information clearly
  • Experience developing and implementing behavior support plans and instructional interventions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted instruction and interventions, adapted for diverse learners with ASD
  • Administer, interpret, and communicate assessment results
  • Design and modify individualized behavior and instructional support plans
  • Utilize evidence-based practices, including ABA strategies like discrete trial teaching and pivotal response training
  • Facilitate social skills development and generalization throughout the school day
  • Adapt general and special education curriculum for varying needs
  • Collaborate actively with IEP teams, participate in meetings, and help develop functional, data-driven goals
  • Identify and address training needs for staff, families, and service providers
  • Provide resources to parents regarding community services and supports
  • Implement crisis prevention/intervention strategies and maintain a safe, inclusive environment
