Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as an Autism Support Specialist, working itinerantly across a district to make a genuine difference for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ranging from kindergarten through age 21. This role calls for a passionate professionalideally a BCBA with school-based experienceto partner with educators, families, and service providers to foster academic, behavioral, and social success for students in ASD programs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current BCBA certification with experience in educational settings
  • Background in applied behavior analysis and functional behavior assessments
  • Familiarity with IEPs, 504 Plans, and special education best practices
  • Expertise supporting individuals with ASD, including those with Aspergers and high-functioning autism
  • Effective communicator, able to clearly present assessment data to diverse audiences
  • Collaborative team player, comfortable leading and participating in multidisciplinary teams

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver instructional activities tailored to students unique needs, grounded in state standards and district goals
  • Collect behavioral data, design, implement, and adjust individualized behavior support plans
  • Incorporate research-based ABA interventions across diverse instructional settings
  • Provide targeted strategies and resources to general education staff for inclusive classroom support
  • Adapt curricula, create visual supports, and promote independence in learning environments
  • Guide social skill development and meaningful peer interactions
  • Participate in assessment processes, IEP meetings, and eligibility reviews
  • Plan and deliver ASD-related training for district staff, parents, and providers
  • Support crisis intervention practices and maintain compliance with policies and procedures
  • Maintain professional growth by keeping current with best practices for ASD intervention
