Job Description

Embark on an exciting opportunity supporting elementary and middle school students in the Chicago, IL area as a contracted special education professional. This role focuses on delivering impactful services across one or multiple school sites for the academic year, August through June, in bustling communities like Oak Park, Elmhurst, and Oak Brook. Your expertise will directly enhance student learning and support diverse needs within elementary and middle school settings.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement required
  • Experience working with students in resource or specialized classroom programs
  • Strong knowledge of individualized supports for learners with varying abilities
  • Familiarity with BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) practices is highly valued
  • Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly with families and staff
  • Commitment to supporting inclusive, equitable educational environments

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage caseloads in resource or self-contained classrooms, including the STARS program for learners with low-incidence disabilities
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Adapt instruction and interventions for diverse learning profiles
  • Collect and analyze student data to guide planning and adjustments
  • Partner with paraprofessionals, classroom teachers, and related service staff
  • Consult and collaborate to create positive, supportive learning experiences for all students

This full-time contract position spans 37.5 hours per week, following established school schedules. Structured hours allow for meaningful engagement with students and effective team collaboration.
