Step into a rewarding role supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in an itinerant position spanning kindergarten through age 21. This contract opportunity calls for a dedicated Autism Support Specialist or BCBA with demonstrated school-based experience, eager to shape meaningful learning and behavioral outcomes across a district-wide ASD program.
In this dynamic role, you'll design and implement instructional activities aligned with state standards and individual student academic and behavioral goals. Your expertise will drive inclusive education, foster social skill development, and empower both students and teaching teams. You'll work in diverse educational settings, providing hands-on intervention, support, and guidance for ASD learners, including those with Aspergers Syndrome and high-functioning autism.
Key Qualifications:
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification
- Proven experience working in K-12 or transition programs with students on the autism spectrum
- Deep understanding of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles in school settings
- Strong ability to interpret assessment data and communicate results to diverse audiences
- Collaborative approach with educators, families, and related service providers
Primary Responsibilities:
- Administer educational and behavioral assessments to determine student needs
- Develop and adapt curriculum, materials, and behavior support plans based on data
- Integrate ABA strategies across discrete trial teaching, pivotal response training, and functional routines
- Guide and train staff, families, and community providers on effective ASD interventions
- Foster positive, productive classroom environments and manage student behavior through evidence-based approaches
- Participate in IEP development and team meetings to ensure tailored support for each student
- Remain current with best practices in autism education and related district policies
