Step into a dynamic contract opportunity as a Behavior Intervention Specialist dedicated to making a difference in the school setting. This full-time position begins with a training week on August 25, 2026, and continues through June 10, 2027. Your expertise will support several school sites, working alongside another BIS and a Special Education Administrator to create impactful, positive learning environments.
Key Qualifications:
- Must be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or hold current licensure as a Special Education Teacher (Tier 3 or 4 required for SpEd Teachers)
- Extensive experience supporting students with behavioral needs in educational settings
- Skilled at conducting functional behavior assessments and implementing positive interventions
- Strong communication skills for collaborative team consultation
- Adaptable, calm under pressure, and effective in crisis scenarios
- Able to travel between assigned school sites as needed
Your Responsibilities:
- Consult, develop, and implement positive behavior interventions and supports
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure appropriate student programming
- Conduct comprehensive functional behavior assessments to inform intervention
- Reinforce positive behaviors and use research-based de-escalation techniques
- Develop and support the implementation of individualized education plans
- Provide behavioral training and support to school staff
- Maintain safe environments for all students
- Collect and analyze behavioral data to guide decisions
- Ensure compliance with board policies, as well as state and federal requirements
- Respond flexibly to school assignments and perform additional duties as needed
