This in-person, contract role is perfect for professionals who are passionate about supporting schools and shaping positive outcomes for autistic students across multiple locations. Youll be instrumental in strengthening educational teams by offering expert evaluation, resources, and hands-on strategies throughout the academic year, anticipated through June 2025.
Key Experience & Qualifications:
- Active TSPC Special Education License required
- Background as an Autism Specialist within school environments
- Proven ability to evaluate students using observation, assessment tools, and interview-based methods
- Strong communication skills to equip educational team members with guidance and practical solutions
- Must have reliable transportation to travel across schools in Polk, Yamhill, and Marion counties
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-person student assessments to determine individual needs and strengths using rating tools and interviews
- Deliver direct support by instructing staff on best practices to implement tailored educational programs
- Provide insightful resources, materials, and ongoing guidance to educators regarding learning strategies for autistic children
- Advise on integrating students successfully within the larger school community, addressing both educational and life needs
- Collaborate across various locations, offering expertise in both individual and group settings for a diverse school-age caseload
