Step into a dynamic, contract-based opportunity devoted to making a meaningful impact in the lives of autistic students across various school sites in the Lebanon, OR area. In this in-person role, you will play an essential part within educational teams, using your expertise to foster inclusive environments and support student growth. The assignment is set to continue through June 2025, averaging approximately 12 hours per week, with travel required to several locations in Polk, Yamhill, and Marion counties.
Qualifications & Experience Desired:
- Valid TSPC Special Education License required
- Prior experience as an Autism Specialist within a school setting strongly preferred
- Expertise in conducting student evaluations using observation, rating tools, and interview-based assessments
- Comprehensive understanding of autism spectrum disorders and various learning styles
- Strong ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary educational teams
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to multiple school locations
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide direct instruction and guidance to both students and staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Observe and assess students, leveraging standardized tools and interviews to inform interventions
- Supply educational teams with current information, effective strategies, and relevant resources for supporting autistic students
- Advise staff regarding appropriate/inappropriate approaches to addressing learning and life needs
- Offer direct services when demonstrating instructional techniques for team members
- Facilitate successful integration of autistic students within classroom and school-wide activities
- Travel between assigned schools in multiple counties as needed
