Make a meaningful difference by supporting students as an Autism Specialist for the upcoming school year. This contract opportunity, located near Albany, Oregon, involves working across multiple sites with diverse student populations. You'll play a pivotal role in helping children thrive by closely collaborating with educators and staff to develop effective strategies tailored to each students needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Current TSPC Special Education License
- Experience serving neurodiverse populations, especially children with autism
- Strong background in observation, assessment, and the use of rating/interview-based tools
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach with educational teams
- Reliable transportation to travel between multiple schools in Polk, Yamhill, and Marion counties
- Comfortable providing in-person services
Primary Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students through direct observation and a variety of assessment tools
- Provide actionable recommendations, resources, and guidance to education teams about autism spectrum learning styles
- Advise staff on effective strategies for addressing both academic and life needs within the school environment
- Facilitate integration and support for students in both individual and group settings
- Direct instructional support for staff to ensure program implementation consistency
- Regularly travel between assigned locations to offer on-site assistance
This position is approximately 12 hours per week and runs through June 2025. Youll be able to work closely with teams across various locations, making a significant impact in the lives of both students and educators.
