Make a meaningful impact supporting students hearing health as an Audiologist in a school-based setting near Sacramento, CA. This contract opportunity allows you to share your expertise and collaborate with educators and support staff to enhance learning outcomes for children with auditory needs.
Desired Background:
- Masters or Doctorate in Audiology from an accredited program
- Valid audiologist state licensure (or eligibility for licensure)
- Experience working with pediatric populations, especially in educational or clinical environments
- Strong knowledge of hearing screenings, diagnostic assessments, and assistive hearing technology
- Ability to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to teachers, staff, and families
- Familiarity with IEP process and required documentation is a plus
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive hearing assessments and screenings for students, identifying barriers to learning related to auditory issues
- Interpret test results and provide timely, clear explanations of findings to multidisciplinary teams and families
- Collaborate closely with school staff and special education professionals in developing and implementing IEPs
- Recommend, fit, and maintain personal and classroom amplification systems or assistive devices as needed
- Offer consultative support and education to school personnel and parents regarding hearing loss and accommodations
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all legal and district-specific documentation requirements
- Stay current with best practices and new technologies in audiology relevant for children and school environments
