In this contract position located near Sacramento, CA, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance students' learning experiences and support their auditory health needs within the school environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters or Doctoral degree in Audiology from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure as an Audiologist or eligibility to obtain
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
- Solid understanding of diagnostic audiology and fitting of amplification devices
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with educators, parents, and students
- Ability to interpret audiological evaluation reports and recommend effective interventions
- Proficiency in conducting hearing screenings and auditory processing assessments
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive auditory evaluations and screenings for students in accordance with IEP requirements and state protocols
- Interpret assessment results and provide recommendations for classroom accommodations and assistive technology
- Fit and manage hearing aids or other assistive listening devices as needed
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to implement auditory accommodations in educational plans
- Offer training and support to educators and families on hearing issues and device care
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines
