Job Description
Make a difference in the lives of students by providing essential audiological services in a supportive and collaborative school environment. As a contract audiologist with our agency, youll engage with students, educators, and families to ensure every child has access to the hearing support they need for success in the classroom.
Requirements and Preferred Background:
- Valid state licensure as an audiologist (or eligibility to obtain)
- Masters or Doctoral degree in Audiology from an accredited institution
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) strongly preferred
- Prior experience in a school-based setting ideal, but not required
- Proficiency with auditory assessments, hearing aid fittings, and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Ability to communicate complex information with empathy and clarity to students, caregivers, and staff
- Strong teamwork skills with a commitment to creating accessible learning environments
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct hearing screenings and comprehensive audiological evaluations for students ages PreK12
- Interpret assessment data and develop relevant reports for IEP meetings
- Recommend and fit appropriate amplification devices, including hearing aids and FM/DM systems
- Provide training and ongoing support to staff and families regarding hearing health and device use
- Work closely with special education teams to implement accommodations and monitor student progress
- Document and maintain accurate records in compliance with district and state regulations
