Bring your expertise in audiology to an educational setting and provide essential hearing support to students. As a contract audiologist in a school environment, you'll play a pivotal role in enhancing students' learning experiences by identifying and addressing hearing-related needs. Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Masters or Doctoral degree in Audiology from an accredited program
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure in Audiology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) preferred
- Previous experience working with pediatric populations, ideally within schools
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
- Comfortable implementing hearing screenings, assessments, and assistive technologies
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive hearing screenings and manage diagnostic hearing assessments for students across various grade levels
- Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
- Provide recommendations for accommodations, assistive listening devices, or hearing aids as needed
- Consult with educators, speech-language pathologists, and other school professionals to support student access to curriculum
- Ensure all records and documentation comply with state and federal guidelines
- Educate students, teachers, and families on hearing loss and effective classroom strategies
