Job Description
Make a meaningful impact by supporting students as a contract school-based audiologist in beautiful southern Alaska. Work alongside dedicated educators and professionals to promote auditory health and access to learning for children of all ages.
Desired Qualifications:
- Masters or Doctorate degree in Audiology from an accredited program
- Current and valid state licensure as an Audiologist (or eligibility to obtain)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) preferred
- Experience performing hearing evaluations and fitting assistive devices in pediatric or school settings
- Knowledge of IEP development and involvement in multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Compassion and patience working with students, parents, and educational staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive hearing screenings and diagnostic assessments for students
- Fit, program, and troubleshoot hearing aids, FM systems, and other assistive listening devices
- Collaborate with teachers, speech-language pathologists, and school staff to support student learning
- Participate in the development and implementation of IEPs for students with hearing impairments
- Educate students, families, and staff on hearing conservation and auditory issues
- Maintain accurate records and manage documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Provide recommendations for classroom accommodations and modifications to enhance student access
