Job Description

Make a meaningful impact by supporting students as a contract school-based audiologist in beautiful southern Alaska. Work alongside dedicated educators and professionals to promote auditory health and access to learning for children of all ages.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Masters or Doctorate degree in Audiology from an accredited program
  • Current and valid state licensure as an Audiologist (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) preferred
  • Experience performing hearing evaluations and fitting assistive devices in pediatric or school settings
  • Knowledge of IEP development and involvement in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Compassion and patience working with students, parents, and educational staff

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive hearing screenings and diagnostic assessments for students
  • Fit, program, and troubleshoot hearing aids, FM systems, and other assistive listening devices
  • Collaborate with teachers, speech-language pathologists, and school staff to support student learning
  • Participate in the development and implementation of IEPs for students with hearing impairments
  • Educate students, families, and staff on hearing conservation and auditory issues
  • Maintain accurate records and manage documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations
  • Provide recommendations for classroom accommodations and modifications to enhance student access
