Step into an impactful role supporting students as an educational audiologist in a dynamic school environment near Kathleen, GA. As a contract professional, youll collaborate with staff, students, and families to promote optimal auditory access, helping learners achieve their full potential.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Audiology from an accredited program
- Valid and current state licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure as an audiologist
- Experience working in educational settings with children and adolescents
- Strong knowledge of hearing assessments and fitting of amplification devices (hearing aids, FM/DM systems)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with educators, families, and students
- Ability to develop and implement hearing conservation programs and provide staff training
- Familiarity with IEP development and participation in multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive audiological evaluations for students to identify hearing issues and recommend interventions
- Fit, program, and manage hearing aids and school-based auditory equipment
- Collaborate with educators to implement accommodations and strategies that support student access to the curriculum
- Participate in eligibility meetings and assist in the development of IEP/auditory management plans
- Provide training and resources to staff and family members regarding hearing loss, equipment use, and classroom acoustics
- Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate records in accordance with school and district guidelines
