Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Masters or Doctoral degree in Audiology from an accredited program
- Current state licensure or eligibility as an Audiologist
- Certification from ASHA (CCC-A) preferred
- Previous experience in school-based or pediatric audiology is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams such as teachers, speech-language pathologists, and parents
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive hearing assessments for students, including screenings, evaluations, and re-evaluations
- Interpret test results and develop educational recommendations and hearing intervention plans
- Provide ongoing support, maintenance, and troubleshooting of classroom amplification systems, hearing aids, and assistive listening devices
- Consult regularly with educators and families regarding student progress and technology usage
- Maintain thorough documentation and comply with individualized education plans (IEPs) and federal/state guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings as an integral advocate for student hearing needs
- Offer training and resources to staff and families to support auditory access in the classroom
