This contract opportunity near Carlisle, IA centers on delivering high-quality audiology services to school-aged children, collaborating with educators, and empowering families.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters or Doctoral degree in Audiology from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure as an audiologist
- Background or interest in working with pediatric clients and school-based populations
- Knowledge of auditory processing disorders, hearing aid management, and assistive listening devices
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Comfortable conducting assessments, interpreting audiograms, and writing detailed reports
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide in-service training as needed
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive hearing screenings and evaluations for students
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans tailored to student needs
- Monitor amplification devices and troubleshoot as necessary
- Educate students, staff, and families about hearing health, hearing loss prevention, and communication strategies in the academic setting
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all applicable privacy regulations
- Serve as a resource for teachers and special services staff on issues affecting students access to sound in the classroom
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expert recommendations for student accommodations
