Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Masters or Doctoral degree in Audiology from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure (or eligibility) to practice as an Audiologist in schools
- American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certification preferred
- Previous experience in a school setting highly valued
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop relationships with students, staff, and families
- Proficient in conducting comprehensive hearing assessments and recommending assistive technology
Key Responsibilities:
- Screen and evaluate students referred for hearing concerns or at risk for auditory disorders
- Interpret assessment results and create individualized recommendations for classroom accommodations and intervention
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and administrators to support student success
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Recommend and manage assistive listening devices and hearing aids
- Educate staff, students, and families about hearing conservation and auditory health
- Maintain clear, accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with school and state requirements
