Key qualifications and skills:
- Experience as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher or Athletic Trainer in school settings
- Solid understanding of physical education principles, student health, and sports injury prevention/management
- Ability to assess, treat, and document athletic injuries across diverse student populations
- Effective communication skills with students, coaches, and colleagues
- Flexibility for varied athletic schedules, especially during gamedays
- Relevant state certification and credentials (where required for practice)
Primary responsibilities:
- Provide athletic training coverage for district-wide athletics, under the supervision of the athletic department
- Oversee adaptive physical education programming as needed, supporting inclusive participation for all students
- Collaborate with coaches and teachers to promote safe athletic practices and manage injury prevention strategies
- Address acute injuries, manage rehabilitation plans, and help guide students safely back to athletic activities
- Maintain accurate injury records and contribute to athletic health education initiatives
- Support afternoon practices from 2pm6pm, with extended hours (until 10pm) for gameday events
