Step into a rewarding contract role designing and delivering adaptive physical education experiences for K-8 students for the 26.27 school year (AugustDecember). In this onsite position, you'll support a single school, making a direct impact on students' physical development and inclusion. Your expertise will ensure every learner thrives in a safe, supportive, and motivating environment tailored to their unique needs.
What youll bring:
- Valid Adaptive Physical Education Certification for California
- Proven experience working with K-8 students requiring adaptive physical education support
- Strong understanding of individualized physical education plan (IEP) goal setting and implementation
- Ability to assess motor skills and physical competencies in a diverse student population
- Skilled at modifying activities for full inclusion
- Collaborative approach to working with teachers, therapists, and support staff
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct broad and ongoing assessments of students motor and physical abilities
- Develop and implement individualized physical education (PE) plans, addressing IEP goals
- Modify and adapt PE activities to enable safe and successful participation for all students
- Deliver engaging instruction that aligns with students unique learning profiles
- Work closely with educational teams and families to ensure holistic student support
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to IEP meetings
