Job Description

Bring your passion for student wellness to this rewarding contract opportunity as an Adaptive Physical Education (APE) provider for the 2026/2027 academic year. Youll play a key role supporting middle school students who require specialized adaptive PE services throughout the district. This part-time position (approximately 22.5 days per week) is perfect for dedicated professionals interested in making a meaningful difference. All services are provided onsite across district middle schools, engaging a diverse and supportive educational community.

What Youll Need:

  • Active Adaptive PE certification/licensure (as required)
  • Prior experience delivering adaptive physical education in school environments
  • Familiarity supporting middle school students with disabilities
  • Excellent skills in collaboration, time management, and organization
  • Strong communicator, adept at both direct teaching and offering consultative guidance
  • Ability and willingness to travel between district campuses; reliable transportation essential
  • Successful completion of drug screening, fingerprinting, and background/CORI check
  • Reliable attendance and timely reporting; communicate promptly in case of absence

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver adaptive PE instruction to students across multiple middle school sites
  • Provide consultative services to school teams and staff to support student inclusion and progress
  • Adapt and modify physical education activities tailored to diverse abilities and needs
  • Work closely with special education teams, administrators, and families
  • Maintain accurate service logs, progress notes, and related documentation
  • Participate actively in meetings, trainings, and school initiatives related to adaptive physical education
