Job Description

Step into a dynamic and rewarding role supporting students as an Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Teacher on a full-time contract basis in the vibrant region near Shasta Lake, CA. In this position, you'll split your day between leading two 5th grade general education PE periods and delivering personalized adaptive PE services to special education students across multiple schools. As an itinerant educator, youll engage with diverse learners and collaborate with staff to foster inclusion and help every student thrive.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • APE Authorization to Multiple or Single Subject Credential is required
  • Experience teaching physical education and adapting curriculum for students with a range of abilities
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to travel between schools as needed and adapt to changing environments
  • Passionate about supporting children and youth in a school setting

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality general PE instruction to 5th graders during assigned periods
  • Provide adaptive physical education, assessments, and services for special education students throughout the day
  • Develop and implement individualized and group lesson plans that accommodate a range of physical abilities
  • Collaborate with special education teams, teachers, and families to support student goals
  • Maintain accurate records and progress notes
  • Engage in district-wide professional development opportunities
