Job Description

Step into a dynamic school environment as an Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Teacher, supporting students across K-12 grades. This contract, onsite position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by designing and delivering engaging physical education programs tailored to students abilities. Youll collaborate with educators and families, fostering inclusion and progress in every class.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Physical Education or closely related field
  • Valid Massachusetts Physical Education teaching license (Initial license)
  • Massachusetts License in Moderate or Severe Special Needs required
  • Previous experience or coursework in APE or special education considered a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with a passion for inclusive education

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement adaptive physical education lessons for K-12 students in a supportive, onsite setting
  • Assess students physical abilities and develop customized programs to promote growth and participation
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and parents to integrate APE goals within IEPs
  • Utilize creative strategies and modifications to ensure activities are accessible and engaging for each student
  • Monitor progress, maintain documentation, and participate in multidisciplinary meetings to advocate for student success
