Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Adapted Physical Education or a closely related field
  • Valid state teaching credential including an APE endorsement
  • Prior experience working with K-12 students, particularly those with diverse physical education needs, is highly valued
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, adapt, and deliver effective physical education instruction to students with varying abilities across K-12 grades
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Monitor student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to ensure optimal engagement and achievement
  • Provide consultation and training to school staff and families regarding best practices in adaptive physical education
  • Maintain accurate records and thorough documentation to support student growth and compliance
