Job Description

This travel opportunity as an Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Teacher offers both variety and impact. Spend your days teaching two periods of 5th-grade general education PE and providing essential APE services to special education students across multiple schools. You'll enjoy a full-time schedule, working 37.5 hours per week in an itinerant assignment, collaborating with educators in welcoming school environments.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Authorization with either a Multiple or Single Subject Credential
  • Experience teaching physical education, especially in adaptive or inclusive settings
  • Ability to effectively instruct and motivate students in both general education and special education settings
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with educators across multiple campuses
  • Strong organizational skills and flexibility to travel between assigned schools

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruct two daily periods of 5th-grade general education PE, creating an engaging, supportive environment
  • Deliver tailored adaptive PE services to special education students, modifying activities as needed
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with IEP goals and California standards
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to optimize individual student outcomes
  • Document progress and participate in IEP meetings as required, providing insights for ongoing support
