Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students with a passion for physical education and adaptive learning strategies. An immediate, onsite opportunity is available for a dedicated Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Teacher to serve several non-public school locations. You will work directly with students who require individualized instruction and support to succeed in their physical education goals.

Ideal candidates bring strong organizational skills, a heartfelt commitment to student development, and a deep understanding of adaptive physical education practices. Your workdays will be spent engaging students, conducting assessments, and collaborating in IEP meetings to drive positive outcomes.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience

  • Valid teaching credential with appropriate authorization in Adaptive Physical Education
  • Proven experience in APE or working with students with moderate/severe disabilities
  • In-depth knowledge of IEP process, documentation, and assessment tools
  • Ability to manage a flexible caseload across multiple sites
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with educators, students, and families

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver adaptive physical education instruction at three onsite locations
  • Provide services to a small caseload: Canyon View (San Dimas), Villa Esperanza (Pasadena), and Chino Spectrum (Chino Hills)
  • Complete required makeup and regular service minutes per student IEPs
  • Participate in and provide input at IEP meetings
  • Conduct relevant assessments and maintain timely/accurate documentation
  • Travel between assigned sites as needed
