Job Description

This full-time, onsite contract position spans the 20262027 academic year, offering you the chance to positively influence a diverse student population and collaborate with dedicated educators in an itinerant role.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current and valid California teaching credential required
  • Demonstrated experience or coursework in Adaptive Physical Education
  • Ability to adapt physical education curriculum to meet the individual needs of students with varying abilities
  • Strong communication and organizational skills for an itinerant (traveling) assignment
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, adaptive PE instruction to students with disabilities across multiple school sites within the district
  • Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with special education staff
  • Track and report student progress, making adjustments as necessary to support achievement of educational goals
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, aides, therapists, and families to optimize student learning
  • Maintain accurate records, ensuring compliance with state and district requirements
  • Serve as an advocate for inclusive physical education in a collaborative team setting
