Bring your expertise in adaptive physical education to an enriching contract opportunity based near Oakland, CA. This position offers the chance to make a significant impact as an itinerant Adaptive Physical Education (APE) teacher, supporting students physical development and inclusive participation across multiple school sites. The contract spans from August 11, 2026, through June 4, 2027, aligning with a standard 184-day academic calendar and providing 35 hours of on-site work per week.

Qualifications:

• Valid California teaching credential specific to Adaptive Physical Education required
• Demonstrated experience working with K-12 students with diverse physical and developmental needs
• Proficiency in adapting and modifying physical activities to ensure accessibility for all students
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to travel to multiple school locations
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, educators, and parents
• Commitment to fostering inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environments

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized adaptive physical education programs for students with varied abilities
• Deliver instruction and facilitate activities that promote motor skill development, fitness, and overall wellness
• Assess student progress and maintain detailed documentation in accordance with IEP goals and district standards
• Collaborate with fellow educators, therapists, and support staff to ensure comprehensive care and support for each learner
• Engage with families to encourage carryover of adaptive strategies beyond the school setting
• Maintain compliance with all district, state, and federal guidelines related to adaptive physical education
