Step into a dynamic role supporting students growth and well-being as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher in the vibrant New Orleans area. In this contract position, you will work itinerantly between 2-3 schools, providing tailored physical education services for students with diverse needs. Flexibility and organization are key, as your caseload and assignments will adapt to the districts ongoing needs.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid PE Teacher certification required; APE certification strongly preferred
• Background in adaptive or inclusive physical education settings
• Proven ability to organize and deliver instruction across multiple school sites
• Reliable transportation to travel between school locations is required
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Successful completion of drug screening and district fingerprinting prior to start

Essential Responsibilities:

• Design and implement adaptive physical education lessons to meet students individual needs and IEP goals
• Evaluate and monitor student progress, adjusting instruction as needed
• Coordinate with general education staff, therapists, and families to support student inclusion and success
• Maintain detailed records of attendance, progress, and adaptations provided
• Provide guidance and resources to staff and families regarding adaptive equipment and best practices
• Manage scheduling and service delivery for your assigned caseload, ensuring services are provided across multiple locations as required

This opportunity offers a consistent, full-time schedule (35 hours weekly), with a part-time option available for those able to work three full days per week. The assignment runs through the end of the academic year, with dedicated planning periods and support for itinerant responsibilities.
