Developmental Adaptive Physical Education Teacher Minneapolis, MN

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a compassionate and creative Developmental Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to support students in the Minneapolis, Minnesota area. This is a rewarding opportunity for an educator who is passionate about helping students with disabilities develop physical, motor, social, and functional skills through individualized physical education.

Position Highlights

  • Provide developmentally appropriate adaptive physical education based on individual student needs
  • Develop and implement individualized physical education goals and instructional plans
  • Work with students with a wide range of disabilities and developmental needs
  • Adapt activities, equipment, and instruction to promote participation and success
  • Assess students' gross motor, physical, and functional abilities and monitor progress
  • Collaborate with special education teachers, occupational/physical therapists, paraprofessionals, and other school staff
  • Support students' motor development, coordination, mobility, physical fitness, and independence
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to students' individualized educational goals
  • Create a safe, positive, and inclusive environment where every student can participate

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Physical Education, Adapted Physical Education, Special Education, or a related field
  • Appropriate Minnesota teaching license/credential for Developmental Adapted Physical Education
  • Experience working with students with disabilities preferred
  • Knowledge of adaptive equipment, modified physical activities, and developmental motor needs
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Passion for helping students build confidence, independence, and physical skills
