Job Description
Make a transformative impact on students' lives as an Adaptive Physical Education (APE) provider supporting middle schoolers who require specialized PE services for the upcoming 2026/2027 academic year. This contract-based, part-time opportunity offers the chance to work across multiple campuses, providing both direct instruction and consultative expertise to a diverse group of learners within a district-wide capacity. With a dynamic schedule of approximately 22.5 days per week, youll be at the forefront of fostering meaningful physical education experiences while collaborating closely with school teams.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Adaptive PE certification or licensure (if required for your state)
- Proven background working within school settings, ideally with middle school-aged students
- Direct experience supporting students with disabilities, tailoring physical education to diverse needs
- Strong collaborative and communication skills with educators, students, and families
- Ability to balance providing direct instruction with consultative guidance to staff
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Reliable transportation for district-wide travel
- Must clear drug screening and fingerprinting/background (CORI) checks
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver adaptive PE programs that address the unique needs and IEP goals of middle school students district-wide
- Consult with school staff and educators on best practices for inclusivity and physical activity modification
- Maintain thorough records, document progress, and communicate effectively with families and teams
- Travel between district schools to ensure consistent, high-quality services
- Collaborate in team meetings and contribute to a culture of inclusion and student well-being
