Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Physical Education or a closely related field
- Valid Massachusetts Physical Education teaching license (Initial license)
- Massachusetts License in Moderate or Severe Special Needs required
- Experience in adapted physical education or relevant special education coursework is highly preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized physical education programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of students on your K-12 caseload
- Assess student abilities, set appropriate goals, and provide engaging instruction aligned with best practices in adaptive PE
- Collaborate closely with special education staff, classroom teachers, and families to promote inclusion and support each students progress
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of student progress in accordance with school policies and state requirements
- Participate in IEP meetings, share student updates, and help inform academic and therapeutic approaches
