Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity working closely with students across various schools as an Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Teacher. In this engaging, full-time role, youll split your time between teaching daily 5th grade general education PE classes and delivering tailored APE services to special education students throughout the school district. This position offers the variety of an itinerant schedule, allowing you to make a meaningful impact in different educational settings.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current authorization to provide APE services via a Multiple or Single Subject Credential
- Experience delivering adaptive PE instruction to diverse student populations is highly valued
- Passion for fostering physical and social development in both general and special education settings
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to travel between multiple school locations as needed
- Collaborative mindset, comfortable building relationships with teachers, students, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach two periods of 5th grade general education PE daily
- Develop and implement individualized APE programs for special education students
- Assess student abilities and adapt curriculum to support physical, cognitive, and social skill development
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Travel to assigned schools to provide services where special education students are located
